Get Involved to our Causes & Mission.

You can get involved to our causes and Mission through the following ways;

Refer our Services

With the increase in awareness of our services in the community more clients are coming to us for help and we need to be able to continue to support these people and to do that we have to let more people know about the work we do and seek their support. This is where you can pay a valuable role and make a difference by becoming an Ambassador for us.

An ambassador is someone who knows DDHC or has heard about us through family or friends and who aligns with our values. DDHC believes that that free medical support and psychosocial care should be accessible to disadvantaged people who need our help. An Ambassador is someone that is willing to promote and contribute to the work we do.

It is up to you to determine where you think you can provide the best value. If you are good at organizing, you may think of creating a fundraising event to raise money for one of our programs. One of our Ambassador’s is having a significant birthday and plans to ask friends to donate to the children’s hostel in lieu of gifts. Or, if you are an active participant on social media you may like to be an advocate and promote what we do to a broader community. You may have a network of people or organization that is looking to align with social responsibility programs and you think DDHC is a good fit.

Volunteer with Us

Making a decision to volunteer is a personal one, be it a sense of social responsibility and wanting to make the world a better place; personal growth; a way to gain a new perspective of the world; or a desire to learn about a new country and culture. Whatever your reasons, it is a great way to contribute and support local communities and be a part of making a positive change.

DDHC programs are run at a local level, and we rely solely on charitable funding and volunteer contributions. Without this help the organisation would not be able to provide the valuable services we do for our disadvantaged clients in the community. Our projects are in need of your transferable skills. If you believe you can share your skills, we would love to hear from you.

We have the following areas that we provide services to our clients as well as administration.

  • Medical Services: Experience in medical or counselling. Laboratory – testing and in the Pharmacy –inventory & distribution of medicine. (Qualifications will need to be sighted by DDHC for specialist areas)
  • Community & Social Support: Provides hands on participation in social & community support for our clients. For example, home visits to palliative care patients. Distribution of food and clothing etc.
  • Administration /Finance/ Human Resources: For example: Supporting/reviewing business processes and procedures: Provide expertise in IT support in particular training staff on Microsoft applications: Provide adult education on business skills and mentoring.
  • Skills Development and Empowerment Support: If you have creative skills you want to unharness, we have several client projects e.g., tailoring business and making jewellery. Skills in marketing and distributing these products would also be beneficial.
